Obituary - Mills Funeral Home: "Bonni Lynn Kinne, 62, of Grand Ledge, went to be with the Lord on October 16, 2023, in Lansing, Michigan. Born on March 9, 1961, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Bonni's life was marked by a deep commitment to her family, her faith, and her work in the field of physical therapy. Bonni was a proud graduate of Grand Ledge High School's class of 1979. Her high school years were also marked by her talent for softball, a passion that would lead her to Western University on a scholarship. Her skills on the field were recognized when she was selected for the 1st Team All American. After completing her education, Bonni embarked on a fulfilling career in physical therapy. She worked as a professor of Physical Therapy at Grand Valley State University and served as the clinical director for the school's Physical Therapy program. Her dedication to her profession was matched only by her commitment to nurturing the next generation of physical therapists. However, Bonni's life was not solely defined by her professional achievements. She was also deeply involved in her church community. A long-time member of the Grand Ledge First United Methodist Church, Bonni taught Discipleship classes, sharing her deep faith and love for her community"
GVSU In Memoriam (Oct 31, 2023): "An associate professor of physical therapy and director of clinical education, died October 16, 2023. She was 62. Kinne joined Grand Valley's faculty in 2010. Kinne earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Western Michigan University, where she played softball as an undergraduate and earned First Team All America honors. Kinne also earned a master's degree in physical therapy from Grand Valley and a doctor of health sciences degree from A.T. Still University"
WMU Hall of Fame: "One of WMU’s most outstanding female athletes … named to AIAW World Series All-Tournament team in 1980 … member of 1980 and 1981 SMAIW All-State teams … 1982 All-America First Team selection … 1984 All-MAC team (the All-MAC) team was started in 1983 in softball). 19-6 record as a senior helped the Broncos in the MAC title and the program’s second-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. Top vote-getter on the 1984 Academic All-American … current owner of several WMU career pitching records, including winning percentage (,793), wins (69), shutouts (48) and ERA (0.32) … also WMU leader in strikeouts in a game (19), strikeouts in a season (195) and strikeouts in a career (593) … compiled career with eight no-hitters and three perfect games"
