GL Independent - Arv Pettit (Nov 1990): "Dr. William Brooks starred in 3 sports: football, baseball, & basketball where he won 9 varsity letters (he earned 1 in cross country as well). He is still recognized as the most prolific scorer in the history of GL basketball. After graduation he attended Western Michigan & later University of Detroit School of Dentistry. Brooks has been a strong community supporter of both athletics, and of community & school-related functions for the entirety of his highly successful dental business that has spanned nearly half a century in GL"
